Infodefensa<\/span> TV has launched the fourth episode of its video-reportage series “Defence, Industry, and Society: Words in the Feminine,” which this time focuses on the advanced S-80 submarines being built by <\/span>Navantia<\/span> for the Navy in Cartagena. This episode provides exclusive access to the interior of the S<\/span>–<\/span>81<\/span> submarine, guided by Lieutenant Laura Vitalia Gonz\u00e1lez and<\/span> Navanti<\/span>a<\/span> engineer Ascensi\u00f3n<\/span> Ruip\u00e9re<\/span>z<\/span>. It also features interviews with four women from companies involved in this technological <\/span>defence<\/span> project.<\/span> Representin<\/span>g<\/span> SAES, our Director of Strategy, Innovation, and Sustainability, Sara Garc\u00eda,<\/span> participate<\/span>s<\/span> alongside Cristina Hern\u00e1ndez (CT Engineering Group), In\u00e9s Garc\u00eda <\/span>(<\/span>Sainse<\/span>l<\/span>), and Mar\u00eda del Carmen Barbero (Indra). Supported by the Ministry of Defence and the Royal Academy of Engineering, the series aims to raise awareness about the Armed Forces and encourage technological vocations, particularly among young women.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n

Lieutenant Laura Vitalia Gonz\u00e1lez and Navantia engineer Ascensi\u00f3n Ruip\u00e9rez guide an exploration through the interior of the submarine, detailing its manufacturing features and operational capabilities. This episode was filmed at the Navy’s Submarine Flotilla and Navantia’s shipyard in Cartagena, during a technical stop of the S-81 submarine \u2018Isaac Peral\u2019. <\/p>\n\n

Enhancing this immersive journey are interviews with four women who represent key companies involved in the submarine project, sharing their insights on this significant industrial initiative. Among the participants is Sara Garc\u00eda, Chief Strategy, Innovation, and Sustainability Officer at SAES, who, along with Cristina Hern\u00e1ndez from CT Engineering Group, In\u00e9s Garc\u00eda from Sainsel, and Mar\u00eda del Carmen Barbero from Indra, provides perspectives on the role of their organisations within the context of this groundbreaking naval development. <\/p>\n\n

SAES has made significant contributions to the S80-class submarine programme by providing advanced systems such as acoustic classification, sonar performance prediction, noise monitoring, and target motion analysis. Additionally, it has developed the towed array sonar, human-machine interfaces for sonars, sonar stimulation, and the Tactical Simulator. Currently, SAES is focused on optimising the towed array sonar and conducting engineering work for tactical system and submarine testing. Its involvement is crucial to the programme’s lifecycle, with its recognised leadership in sonar technology in Spain, noted for its technological capability and expertise in complex naval programmes. <\/p>\n\n

The series “Defence, Industry, and Society: Words in the Feminine,” supported by the Ministry of Defence and the Royal Academy of Engineering, aims to promote awareness of the Armed Forces and inspire vocations, particularly among young women interested in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) careers. Since its launch in December, featuring episodes on the A400M and the VCR 8×8 Drag\u00f3n, and now delving into S-81 submarine technology, the series continues to highlight the contributions of women in the defence sector. <\/p>\n\n

Through this series, the Ministry of Defence hopes to inspire more women to pursue careers in defence and technology, reflecting the growing diversity and innovative capabilities of the Armed Forces and their collaborating industries across Spain. <\/p>\n\n

This collaboration not only highlights SAES’s technological prowess but also serves to inspire new generations to engage in national defence. <\/p>\n\n
