During the “CAETRA ARSENAL Line: Innovation and Synergies for R&D&I” conference, SAES, in collaboration with <\/span><\/span>the <\/span>Spanish <\/span>Navy<\/span><\/span> and <\/span>Nav<\/span>an<\/span>tia<\/span>, <\/span>show<\/span>cased<\/span> its most advanced technological innovation projects, with a particular focus on the new Centre of Excellence in Underwater Technologies (CETSUB). The event took place at the European Business and Innovation Centre of Cartagena (CEEIC) and<\/span> was <\/span>orga<\/span>nised<\/span> by the Ministry of Business, Employment and Social Economy through the Institute of Development (I<\/span>NFO)<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n

The conference brought together over 60 companies from the industrial and technological sectors, aiming to foster collaboration opportunities in defence, security, and reconstruction. Nuria Castillo, Director of CEEIC, and Antonio Romero, Head of Innovation at the Institute of Development (INFO), underscored the strategic importance of this initiative in positioning the Region of Murcia as a leader in technological innovation in defence. Jos\u00e9 Carlos Garc\u00eda, head of Startup CAETRA, highlighted the resources available for local and regional defence industries. <\/p>\n\n

Furthermore, the attending companies were given the opportunity to learn firsthand about the innovation projects in R&D&I from the Spanish Navy, Navantia, and SAES. In this regard, Manuel Paredes (OTACV Navantia) and Elena Carri\u00f3n (ISDEFE) delivered a detailed presentation on the existing technological challenges in the lifecycle of the S80 submarine. Following this, Jos\u00e9 Antonio Pag\u00e1n and Miguel M\u00e9ndez from COEX Navantia introduced projects and lines of innovation where the involvement and collaboration of the regional technological industry will be pivotal. <\/p>\n\n

Sara Garc\u00eda, Chief of Strategy, Innovation and Sustainability Officer at SAES, concluded the series of presentations by explaining the advanced technological requirements of SAES’s new Centre of Excellence in Underwater Technologies (CETSUB) and its innovative work streams. She stated, \u201cThe Centre of Excellence in Underwater Technologies at SAES represents our commitment to innovation and strategic collaboration. This centre is a crucial element in providing integrated and advanced solutions in the underwater domain, enhancing marine environmental protection with eco-friendly technologies, while also driving technological advancement in the Region of Murcia.” <\/p>\n\n

The event also served as a platform to enhance cooperation among major leading companies (Spanish Navy, Navantia, SAES) and the local and regional industry. It was announced that bilateral meetings would be organised to select partners and facilitate the formation of consortia, enabling the submission of projects to the CAETRA ARSENAL line and offering concrete solutions to the challenges posed in defence, security, and reconstruction, which will be published shortly by INFO. <\/p>\n\n

The CEEIC, reaffirmed as a key hub of innovation, leads these strategic collaborations, supported by companies such as Odin Solution, Dr\u00f3nica, Capgemini, CT Ingenieros, Centic and ISDEFE. Looking ahead, significant opportunities were announced within the CAETRA INFO CEEIC line, including events with investment funds and a pioneering Artificial Intelligence accelerator for the naval sector. These efforts demonstrate an ongoing commitment to innovation and strengthen the region’s capacity to lead in dual technologies. <\/p>\n\n

The business representation included firms such as Odin Solution, Dr\u00f3nica, Capgemini, Secify, Ciso, Tecnodiesel, Osl Iberia, E-lighthouse Network, Bleeker, Scorpions, AED Vantage, Setenova, CBM Technical Solutions, CT Ingenieros, Demco, Neoradix, MG Jakets, Fabitive, Exides, Select Asterisco, Tecsumaga, Integralia Energ\u00eda, Horizon Caelis, CloneByMe, Fluid Mec\u00e1nica, Mec\u00e1nicas Bolea, Biyectiva, Herjimar, MiN, Techno Pro Hispania – Ekium, Carthago Servicios T\u00e9cnicos, alongside other technological centres like Centic and significant entities such as ISDEFE. This broad representation highlights the vibrant and extensive innovative ecosystem present in the Region of Murcia, emphasising its capacity to bring together key players in the technological and business sectors. <\/p>\n\n
