R&D&I projects in underwater technology
SAES is a company committed to Research, Development and Innovation in the underwater field. Most of our products are entirely developed in Spain by our own engineers and with the company's own resources, with no external technological dependence. In addition, SAES carries out an important technology transfer effort, showcasing its products at leading international events and trade fairs and collaborating with a range of organisations and companies.
At the forefront of underwater signal processing.
Collaboration with universities and technology centres.
For the development of these and other R&D&I projects, SAES collaborates with different universities and research centres, such as the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT), the University of Murcia (UMU), the University of Malaga (UMA) and the University of Cantabria (UNICAN), the Spanish Institute of Oceanography (IEO), as well as with the Naval and Marine Technology Center (CTN) of which SAES is a founding partner.
Participation in national and international consortia.

New projects 2025
During 2025, at the international level, SAES has started its participation in the NEREUS project, under the European Defence Fund (EDF), aimed at developing an intelligent naval system of systems for the next generation of EU combat vessels, leveraging new advanced technologies and digitalisation, and in the AMASM project, selected in an EDA tender and focused on identifying, designing and validating new advanced materials for acoustic signature management adapted to naval defence applications.
In the national civil sector, the development of the SIMBAAD project began in 2025, selected in the RETOS call by the Instituto de Fomento de la Región de Murcia (INFO) and aimed at the development, implementation and at-sea testing of an intelligent buoy for the real-time monitoring and control of acoustic, electrical, magnetic and chemical pollutant emissions in the marine environment.
