In line with its commitment to sustainable development, SAES has secured a 100% renewable electricity supply for its production centre in Cartagena. This is supported by the Guarantees of Origin System and certified by the CNMC, ensuring the provenance of its energy. This move strengthens its environmental policy, promoting decarbonisation and more efficient use of natural resources.
SAES continues to lead the way towards sustainability with its recent procurement of renewable energy for its Cartagena production plant. This initiative is set to reduce the company’s carbon footprint by approximately 65 tonnes of CO2 annually. In addition to the environmental benefits, the new contract offers more competitive rates, resulting in an estimated 44% savings in the coming years, thereby enhancing the organisation’s competitiveness.
SAES President, Javier Mármol, stated: “with this agreement, we reinforce our commitment to sustainability, aligning with our goal of carbon neutrality and significantly contributing to the fight against climate change.”
This progress integrates into the newly approved SAES Sustainability Strategy, aimed at optimising efficiency and cost-effectiveness across its supply chain, highlighting its commitment to environmental protection and combating climate change. With such initiatives, the company continues to solidify its leadership in sustainability, proving that economic competitiveness can indeed be aligned with environmental responsibility.
