SAES has been selected by the Regional Development Institute of Murcia (INFO) to deliver a solution to the challenge CAETRA 2024-01 – Intelligent Control of Underwater Pollution, set by the Port Authority of Cartagena (APC), within the framework of the INFO grants for open innovation in the fields of Defence, Security, Reconstruction and Development under the CAETRA programme.
SIMBAAD (Smart Marine Monitoring System Based on an Advanced Buoy) aims to implement and carry out at-sea trials (in a port environment) of an intelligent buoy integrating multiple sensors for the real-time monitoring and control of acoustic, electric, magnetic and chemical pollutant emissions in the marine environment. The project contributes to biodiversity protection and supports compliance with the European Marine Strategy Framework Directive.
The project began in May 2025 and is scheduled for completion in May 2026.
