The 24th edition of the Night of Telecommunications in the Murcia Region, held last Friday 24th October, celebrated the most outstanding companies in the sector. Benito Úneda, Unicef, Kerberos, SAES and E-Lighthouse were recognised at an event attended by 300 guests from the business and institutional sectors of the region.
The Association and College of Telecommunications Engineers of the Murcia Region organise the annual ‘Night of Telecommunications’, bringing together leading companies that drive economic growth and digital transformation in Spain. The 24th edition took place last Friday, 24th October, with over 300 attendees from different sectors across the regional community, including business leaders, institutions and public officials.
The event reflects the economic and social influence of telecommunications on both national and international levels. The gala’s opening address was delivered by the Dean of the College of Telecommunications Engineers of the Murcia Region, Juan Luis Pedreño. The evening was honoured by the esteemed presence of the Secretary of State for Telecommunications and Digital Infrastructure, María González Veracruz, and the Regional Minister for Economy, Finance and Business of the Autonomous Community of Murcia, Luis Alberto Marín.
During the ceremony, awards were presented to companies committed daily to innovation, investment in the region, and digital transformation:
- ‘Digital Transformation for Social or Disadvantaged Sectors’ Award to Unicef Spain
- ‘Innovation in the Telecommunications Industry’ Award to Ingeniería Kerberos
- ‘Technological Leadership in Defence Projects’ Award to SAES
- ‘Strategic Regional Connectivity’ Award to E-lighthouse Network Solutions
- ‘Telecommunications Professional of the Year 2025’ Award to Benito Úbeda Miñarro
SAES President, Javier Mármol, attended the event alongside General Manager César Solano, to receive the award. In his acceptance speech, he said: “It is a great honour for SAES to receive this recognition on such a special night for our sector. I sincerely congratulate all the award winners, as well as the men and women of SAES, whose dedication and talent drive the advancement of telecommunications in our region. Without their commitment over the past 35 years, none of this would have been possible. Thank you all for making this a reality, and thanks to the College of Telecommunications Engineers for celebrating it with this award.”
