SAES took part yesterday in the gala ceremony of the 3rd Isaac Peral Foundation Awards, which recognise industrial and technological innovation in the Region of Murcia. This year, the Isaac Peral Foundation Honour Award was presented for the first time to Admiral Aniceto Rosique Nieto, Director General of Armament and Materiel (DGAM), in recognition of his outstanding career and his role in advancing innovation within naval defence. The award was presented by Alfonso Corbalán, President of the Foundation, and César Solano, SAES General Manager, who both highlighted Admiral Rosique’s legacy as an inspiration for future generations.
The Fundación Isaac Peral hosted its third edition of the awards, bringing together eminent figures from the business, academic, military and institutional sectors across the Region of Murcia. These awards celebrate the dedication and achievements of companies, researchers, and organisations that contribute to the region’s economic, technological, and industrial development, promoting a model of sustainable and innovative growth.
The evening commenced with a welcome address from Cartagena’s Mayor, Noelia Arroyo, who emphasised the Foundation’s pivotal role in fostering the region’s industrial and technological sectors.
As a patron of the Isaac Peral Foundation, SAES participated actively in the awards ceremony, extending congratulations to this year’s recipients for their contributions to the growth of Murcia’s industrial landscape:
- Company of the Year: Gor Factory, represented by Fernando Rubio, who underscored the importance of innovation and sustainability.
- Research Award: Dr Carlos García Izquierdo, who highlighted the critical role of research in promoting social wellbeing.
- Business Trajectory Award: Fama Sofás, with Félix López emphasising creativity and social commitment.
- Innovative Project Award: Cementos La Cruz, for their ERACLITUS project, focused on sustainable development and reducing CO₂ emissions.
In this edition, the Isaac Peral Foundation Honour Award was conferred for the first time to Admiral Aniceto Rosique Nieto, Director General of Armament and Materiel (DGAM), recognising his exemplary professional career and his significant contribution to technological development and innovation in naval defence. This prestigious accolade, awarded directly by the patronage board upon SAES’s recommendation, was presented by Alfonso Corbalán, Foundation President, and César Solano, SAES General Director, who both praised Admiral Rosique’s exemplary career and his role as a role model for future generations.
During his speech, Alfonso Corbalán highlighted the vital contribution of the region’s enterprises to economic and technological progress, emphasising their talent, innovation, and commitment to sustainability, positioning Murcia as a leading industrial hub at national and international levels.
The event concluded with remarks from Marisa López, Regional Minister for Business, Employment and Social Economy, who reaffirmed the regional government’s support for innovation, research and technology-driven industry.
The gala attracted a broad representation from institutional, political, academic and military spheres, including Admirals Vicente Cuquerella and Alejandro Cuerda; Diego Salinas, First Deputy Mayor of Cartagena; Enrique Ujaldón, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Environment, Universities, Research and the Mar Menor; Mathieu Kessler, Rector of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena; José Luján Alcaraz, Rector of the University of Murcia; Juan Luis Pedreño, National Deputy and Spokesperson for Innovation in Congress; Francisco Pulido, Colonel of the 5th Zone of the Civil Guard in Murcia; and Míriam Mendoza, Campus Coordinator for Cartagena at the Catholic University of San Antonio of Murcia, among others.
