SAES – S.A. Electrónica submarina, specialist in Underwater Electronics, participates with a stand (01-A11) at the International Defence Exhibition and Conference IDEX from February 22 to 26 in the Abu Dhabi. SAES is receiving the visits of defence and security bodies from the Emirates as well as partners and collaborators, delegations and sector companies.

New strategies against marine pollution caused by electro-magnetic and acoustic emissions require the development of equipment and standard measurement procedures to evaluate the impact of those emissions in the marine flora and fauna, in order to preserve the biodiversity of the seas and oceans. SAES provides modular detection systems to measure magnetic, electric and acoustic influences with a high capacity of data transmission to analysis centres.

 

Also in the civilian field, asymmetrical threats make necessary to deploy underwater protection systems for Ports, drilling platforms, anchored boats, power plants, large oil refining companies, etc. The high-frequency active sonar DDS-03 (intruder detection sonar) has been specifically designed for the detection of underwater threats such as divers and manned and unmanned underwater vehicles (SDV, ROV or UUV) offering protection and surveillance in any infrastructure of interest.

SAES collaborates in the 1st Festival of Wushu held in Cartagena

One hundred children between 3 and 15 years old participated in the event of martial arts.

In the exhibition, held at the Pavilion Cabezo Beaza of Cartagena last December 21, the children showed their skills in Chinese Martial Arts (Wushu) and, later, teachers and students of the San Cai Long Chinese Martial Arts School (Cartagena), sponsored by SAES, Antonio Mateos Sports Center (Águilas) and Heung Chang School (Murcia) performed several demonstrations creating great interest.

In this First Wushu Festival, organized by the Judo and Associated Sports Federation with the collaboration of the Sports Councillorship of Cartagena, exercises were displayed in different modalities, such as Barehanded, Long Staff, Sabre and Sword routines (Taolu), Self Defense and Sport Free Fighting (Qinda / Sanda).

SAES in EXPONAVAL 2014.

SAES has shown during the last week the most advanced technology for underwater security and defense in Chile, in the IX Exhibition and International Conference of Naval and Maritime Defense for Latin America EXPONAVAL 2014.

SAES – Electronica Submarina SA, company specialist in underwater electronics, has been visited from senior representatives of the armed, ministries of defence and industry in Latin American countries interested in underwater and anti-submarine warfare systems. In addition, meetings have been held with the aim that SAES opens up the market in civil and environmental protection on Latin American.

 

ROASW – Remote Operation ASW System. At the forefront of anti-submarine warfare.

The Chilean navy has trusted in SAES to supply some of its platforms with anti-submarine warfare capabilities. Based on that solid relation, the company seeks strengthen itself in the country and extends its influence in countries like Colombia, Peru, Ecuador and Argentina.

 

The systems based on Sonobuoy Processing for Antisubmarine Warfare, as the family of Sonobuoy Processing Acoustic Systems (SPAS), as well as ground support systems for analysis, post-mission tasks and training as SICLA-ASW (acoustic classification), FTAS (fast time analyzer system) and TAT (Acoustic Tactical trainer) are attracting great interest.

 

Particularly, it is worth noting the “ROASW system (formerly called SDL), since this ASW solution extends the operation range of the ASW missions from 25 to 100 nautical miles by collaborating in a Network Centric Warfare (NCW). Swedish Navy has trusted in SAES for the installation of the ROASW system onboard the Visby class corvettes.

The cyclist supported by SAES wins again

Ismael Sánchez Adan, Absolute Champion in the Region of Murcia

 

 

The SAES collaboration with Mundo Bici Riders Club of Cartagena is rewarded with the participation and success of their different racing cyclists in the recent competitions celebrated in Murcia community and at a national range, both road and mountain

 

 

IMG-20141126-WA0015The XXIV Bicycle Touring Route Cartagena Carthaginians and Romans and the 34th Cycling Race Villa de San Javier took recently place in the road category.

 

 

On the other hand, in Mountain Bike category, Ismael Sanchez Adan showed its excellent level in the “Open Bike Marathon Murcia” which took place on September 28 in Águilas against the best specialists of this Region.

Sanchez Adan is a well-known cyclist who participates in major regional and national mountain bike competitions with great success. At present, he is the Absolute Champion of the Region of Murcia in Elite Pro, 1st place Open CXO Madrid and the 5th in the Open General of Spain. One of his projects for the upcoming 2015 is his participation in the World Cup.

Antisubmarine (ASW) warfare based on Sonobuoy Processing

The SAES products related to the ASW warfare based on sonobuoy processing are some of the fields that have aroused most interest.

 

Building on more than 25 years of expertise in acoustic processing, SAES has developed a complete family of airborne Sonobuoy Processing Acoustic Systems (SPAS) that covers MPA and Helo ASW operations, as well as provides the core for the ROASW System concerning remote exploitation of Acoustic and Non-Acoustic sensors (NAS).

 

SPAS allows the concurrent processing of up to 64 analogue and digital sonobuoys and provides all the necessary tools to allow passive detection, classification and tracking of submarines and surface ships. SPAS is a unique, modular, scalable and fully operative system that can be integrated the aircraft / helo tactical mission system. In fact, SPAS is installed and fully operative in aircrafts (P-3A/B/M Orion MPA and C-295 MPA aircraft), Helicopters (SH-60B LAMPS and HKP15 A-109) and Surface Ships (Visby class corvettes).

 

In addition, and as ground support to SPAS, SAES has manufactured ASW systems for post-mission analysis and training as SICLA-ASW (acoustic classification of contacts), FTAS (Fast time Analyzer System) and TAT (Tactical Acoustic Trainer).

 

DDS-03. Intruder Detection Sonar

Among the products of the “Sonar and Onboard Systems” commercial line, the high-frequency active sonar DDS-03 to detect intruders underwater, is also generating a keen interest, not only because it is a competitive sonar, but also for the customization capability and easy integration with any surveillance system.

SIDIS – Integral Security Systems

DDS-03. Intruder Detection Sonar

The high-frequency active sonar DDS-03 has been specifically designed for the detection of underwater threats such as divers and manned and unmanned underwater vehicles (SDV, ROV or UUV), off­ering protection and surveillance against the potential threat in ports, critical facilities, shipwrecks, environmentally protected areas, special events and anchored boats.

Their high acoustic performance, powerful detection range and wide range of features for detection and tracking of targets, alarms, classification and communication systems make the DDS-03 essential for security and surveillance underwater.

Additionally, the Deterring System (DES) can warn non-authorized divers of being in a protected area and emit dissuasive acoustic signals if needed.

SAES finalizes the integration test of the Towed Array Handling System (TAHS) made for new Spanish submarines S-80

SAES has successfully completed integration testing of the Deployment and Recovering System (TAHS) with Digital Towed Sonar (DTAS), also made by SAES, ending a comprehensive STW (Setting- to- work) test plan on land in the own facilities, with more than 40 deployments completed without failure.

 

DTAS&TAHS Test Facilities

SOLARSUB S-80 DTAS & TAHS (Digital Towed Array Sonar & Towed Array Handling System) is the third generation of long-range towed array sonar for submarines based on digital technology (DTAS) developed by SAES for the new S-80 submarines for the Spanish Navy.

Last December, SAES finalized the integration testing of the System for Deployment and Recovering (TAHS) with Digital Towed Sonar (DTAS) at its sonar test facilities, located in “La Palma”, Cartagena. Over 40 deployment/recovering manoeuvres has been completed, equivalent to 40 missions since normally sonar is deployed only once per mission.

In addition, these facilities are prepared to conduct training and faults simulation of towed array sonar to submarine crew, since this is an exact replica of the system to install on S-80.

SAES searches partners and European funding for USMA program of monitoring and analysis of submarine signatures in Brussels.

The SAES USMA (Signature Underwater Monitoring and Analysis Centre) program, which could be developed within the European framework Horizonte2020 would be an essential tool for the effective implementation of the EU Marine Strategy.

SAES has participated on 23 and 24 January at meetings of the Security Information and Mission Innovation Group (SMI2G) in Brussels, to launch the USMA program within the framework program European Horizon 2020 (H2020). The SMI2G, born in 2004, is an open forum oriented to security programs in the EU in order to exchange views on potential proposals for Research and Technology (R&T). SAES has contacted European companies and research centres to find partners to develop the USMA program and obtain European funding.
