The 46th edition of the Vuelta Ciclista a la Región de Murcia – Costa Cálida once again placed the Region firmly on the international cycling map. SAES sponsored the King of the Mountains prize, won by Marc Soler, who also claimed victory in the overall classification.
The 46th Vuelta a la Región de Murcia – Costa Cálida is a cycling event of the highest international calibre. This year, the race returned to its two‑stage format, bringing together 19 teams, including six WorldTeams such as Movistar, Bahrain and UAE. The ProTeam Pinarello‑Q36.5 also competed, featuring Tom Pidcock, alongside several Continental teams and the Spanish Under‑23 National Team.
SAES’s Chief Executive Officer, César Solano Márquez, took part in the official start held at the Port of Cartagena, from where the riders set off towards Yecla. During the second stage, between Murcia and Santomera, the ribbon‑cutting ceremony was led by the Government Delegate in Murcia, Francisco Lucas, and the President of SAES, among other authorities. SAES congratulates Marc Soler on winning the King of the Mountains prize and on being crowned champion of the 46th edition, demonstrating exceptional strength and consistency throughout the race.
As a publicly owned company deeply rooted in Cartagena and the Region of Murcia, SAES is proud to have contributed to an event that showcases our region nationally and internationally, bringing together institutions, sponsors, clubs and supporters around a shared passion.
SAES President Javier Mármol highlighted that “this collaboration enables us to combine sport and sustainability, a vital pairing for our society. Sport brings out the best in us: effort, teamwork and fair play. The Vuelta is also an opportunity to remind ourselves that the Region is home to pioneering technology and defence companies of which we can all be proud.”
In addition to its support for the Vuelta, SAES is also sponsoring the Santa Lucía water polo club and the children’s football club this season, promoting sport as a driver of social cohesion and as a means of fostering values such as respect, equality, perseverance and the spirit of self‑improvement.
We would now like to share a selection of images from the 46th Vuelta Ciclista a la Región de Murcia Costa Cálida, reflecting the commitment and enthusiasm of the SAES team throughout this initiative.
