SAES has been selected under the RETOS 2025 call issued by the Institute for the Development of the Region of Murcia (INFO) to develop the MRP‑IA project (Monitoring of the S80-class submarine’s self‑noise using artificial intelligence), a strategic initiative in the field of technological innovation applied to the naval and defence sector.
The challenge, proposed by the Technical Office for Lifecycle Support of the S80-class Submarine (OTACV‑S80) under the title “AI‑based predictive control of self‑noise”, addresses a critical aspect of next‑generation submarine operations: the control and reduction of the acoustic signature.
MRP‑IA aims to deliver an innovative software prototype, fully integrated into the S80 operational environment, capable of monitoring and predicting radiated acoustic signatures under different operating conditions. The system will enable continuous monitoring of self‑noise and its prediction across a range of operational scenarios, thereby enhancing acoustic discretion and overall operational efficiency. The project began in April and has a duration of 12 months.
This initiative further reinforces SAES’s commitment to technological innovation and consolidates its role as a key player in the development of advanced solutions for the S80 programme and the wider naval and defence industry.
